Rocky Mountain National Park

After spending time in Boulder,  CO and visiting with Carla's brother Gary and his wife Grace in Loveland we made it up to RMNP near Estes Park, CO. The weather has been all over the map. The only thing that hasn't happened is snow. We've had good visits with Gary's daughters Amy, Jessica, and their finances Steve and Mike.

Arches National Park, Utah

May 12th, 2014. There's snow on the Rockies as we gaze eastward. All from that last large storm that passed through a couple of days ago. A warming trend is in the air. Good because the wind was blowing icy cold when we arrived. What views here! You can see for many miles. Vast and expansive vistas treat us along with the beautiful rock formations and arches. The town of Moab is fun too. We can't seem to stay away from the Moab Brewery.  LOL.

Capitol Reef National Park Utah

May 11th 2014. After a harrowing trip over a 9600 ft pass in a snowstorm in which we decoupled our vehicles for the journey it was a very welcomed delight to arrive at Fruita Campground in Capitol Reef.

Escalante Petrified Forest, Utah

May 10th,  2014. This is a small but very nice park. We were fortunate to find a site near the lake. We hiked up to see some big logs of petrified wood.
